Design Assurance System includes the following basic procedures related to the process of an aircraft sample design:

1)  product design;

"Design Management" procedures should include:

  • main stages of the design process;
  • work carried out at each stage;
  • analysis of the impact of :
    • airworthiness requirements;
    • process requirements;
    • market situation;
    • economic and production conditions.

2)  type certification;

The procedure for Type Certification should contain:

  • Overall action planning
  • Certification of individual aircraft

—       Main stages

—       Export certificate of airworthiness

—       Aircraft for certification flight tests before delivery

—       Storage and archiving

  • Validation of export certificate of airworthiness in the country of registration

—       Standard documentation

—       Validation in the country of registration

—       Level of the Aviation authorities involvement of the country of registration

3)  compliance documents;

Procedure for Compliance document should contain:

  • Preparation of certification documents
  • Category of compliance documents
  • Compliance demonstration documents (certification documents)
  • Form of certification documents, their signing and distribution

—       Numbering system of certification documents

—       Data transfer sheet of certification documents

—       Cover of certification documents

4) hardware and software certification;

"Hardware and software Certification" procedures should include:

  • REGULATIONS, STANDARDS AND GUIDELINES
  • COMPLEX ELECTRONIC HARDWARE

—       Logical matrix of hardware issues

—       The data required for the planning issues of hardware

—       The data required for the design issues of hardware

—       The data required for the verification issues of hardware

—       The data required for final review of the hardware certification

5)    designer and Manufacturer interaction;

Procedures for Designer and Manufacturer interaction should contain

  • procedure of interaction within the framework of production certification;
  • procedure of interaction in the process of serial production;
  • procedure of interaction in case of construction of the prototype by the Manufacturer.

6) subcontractor interaction;

The Procedures for subcontractor evaluation and surveillance should include:

  • procedures for selecting subcontractors;
  • procedures for subcontractor surveillance
  • procedures for delivery / acceptance of works;
  • monitoring of 2 level subcontractors.

7)  suppliers interaction

 The Procedures for suppliers evaluation and surveillance should include:

  • procedures for selecting suppliers;
  • procedures for subcontractor surveillance
  • procedures for delivery / acceptance of works;
  • monitoring of 2 level  suppliers.

8)  aviation equipment sample configuration management;

The Procedures for configuration management should include:

  • requirements for configuration documents;
  • experimental aircraft configuration management procedure;

9) introduction of changes in the type design;

The procedures for introduction of changes in the type design should include:

  • Procedures for introduction of changes in the type de of the certified aircraft;
  • * permitted deviations from the type design.

10) certification of the aviation equipment sample;

Procedures for aviation equipment sample should contain:

  • the procedure for documentation management for an aviation equipment sample;
  • aircraft delivery to the Customer;
  •  the procedure for obtaining the Airworthiness Certificate.

11)  flight tests;

Procedures for flight test should contain:

  • Requirements for the aircraft design 
  • The procedure for the flight tests organization
  • The roles and responsibilities of participants in the flight test

12)   Permission for deviations from the type design;

Procedures for permission for deviations from the type design should contain:

  • Deviation type
  • Decision-making procedure on product with deviation

  • Procedure for technical evaluation of deviations by the design organization

  • RESPONSIBILITIES for the SB development

16) approval of design repair.

Procedures for approval of design repair should contain:

  • The procedure for the Structural Repair Manual (SRM)development and review
  • Responsibility
